With its great beaches, superb food and wine, and friendly, approachable people, Australia is a destination that allows you to really escape and explore.

From the Desk of the ISCFS President

I am pleased to welcome you to the XIth Bi-Annual Congress of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery, to be staged at Australia's prestigious Hyatt Regency, Coolum, Queensland, from 11-14 September, 2005.

Located alongside one of the seven natural wonders of the world—The Great Barrier Reef—Coolum's five-star resort lies on Australia's spectacular and un-spoilt Sunshine Coast, where you can immerse yourself in a 'Truly Australian Experience'.

You, your partner and family will be surrounded by exquisite natural woodlands, rainforest, and tropical gardens at a resort boasting one of Australia's premier championship golf courses, all fronting two kilometres of pristine sandy beach, right on the Pacific Ocean.

Not only is Australia's Sunshine Coast one of the world's most picturesque locations, it is also one of the world's safest tourist destinations. The location is simply idyllic:

  • Less than an hour from Brisbane's International Airport
  •
  • Gateway to Australia's spectacular tropical coastline
  •
  • Near the tourist mecca of Noosa Heads
  •
  • Access to world-famous whale watching at Hervey Bay
  •
  • A short drive from "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo
  • Close to the world's largest sand island (Fraser Island) with its
endless miles of 4WD-accessible coast, dotted with shipwrecks
and amazingly diverse native flora and fauna.
  • The Congress itself will feature scientific sessions, with the world's leading craniofacial surgeons providing expert presentations, panels, and discussion group. Exhibitions of state-of-the-art equipment, innovations, and services, a comprehensive schedule of social activities, partner & family programs, and so much more!
